Edgewater at Boca Pointe hosted nearly 40 children, our "Rising Stars," in an extraordinary Back-to-School event to support their role as child caregivers to ill, disabled or aging family members. The elementary and high school students, part of the American Association of Caregiving Youth, joined residents for a morning brunch to celebrate their accomplishments and kickoff the new school year.

Local WPTV reporter Amy Lipman visited our Boca Raton retirement community to meet these inspiring students who go above and beyond for their family.

"The kids do everything that an adult family caregiver would do," said Connie Siskowski, who founded the American Association of Caregiving Youth.
